**Job Title**: Poultry Farm Manager

**Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Poultry Husbandry**:

- Oversee all stages of poultry production, from brooding to grow-out or layer management, depending on the farm's focus.
- Monitor bird health and welfare, implementing preventative health programs and administering medications as needed (under veterinary supervision).
- Manage feed programs, ensuring proper nutrition and minimizing feed waste.
- Optimize environmental conditions within the poultry houses, including temperature, ventilation, and lighting.
- Implement and enforce biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks.
- Monitor bird performance metrics (e.g., growth rate, feed conversion, mortality) and implement strategies for improvement.
- Manage litter and manure disposal according to environmental regulations.
- **Farm Management**:

- Supervise and train farm staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Develop and manage farm budgets, controlling costs and maximizing profitability.
- Maintain farm records, including production data, health records, and inventory.
- Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of all farm equipment and infrastructure.
- Manage inventory of supplies, including feed, medications, and other essential items.
- Implement and enforce farm safety regulations.
- **Compliance and Regulatory**:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations related to poultry production, animal welfare, and environmental protection.
- Maintain accurate records required for regulatory compliance.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
- **Strategic Planning**:

- Contribute to the development of farm strategic plans and budgets.
- Identify opportunities for improving farm efficiency and profitability.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and practices in poultry production.
- **Communication**:

- Communicate effectively with farm staff, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and present reports on farm performance.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor's degree/Diploma Agricultural Science, Animal Science, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 3 years of experience in poultry farm management, preferably in a supervisory role.
- **Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of poultry husbandry practices.
- Excellent management and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and data analysis.
- Knowledge of farm equipment and maintenance.
- Understanding of biosecurity protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

**Working Conditions**:
