Artisan Fitter

Job specification**:Artisan Fitter & Turner**

Situated in Zuurbekom (N12 old Potchefstroom Road between Lenasia and Protea)

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Be able to fault find and **maintain mechanical equipment** in the Fixed Plant in order to reduce downtime. To ensure that equipment is in sound condition to enable Production to work according to plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:
2. Interdepartmental Liaison: Regularly inform Manager of tasks carried out.

3. Liaison with Suppliers: On specific maintenance problems and spares.

4. Housekeeping: Must make sure that the working area is left clean and scrap parts are removed and disposed.

5. Safety: Maintenance tools to be used in such a manner so as not to endanger the safety of yourself and other Employees.

6. Quality: Be able to meet the required quality standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Trade test passed: Olifantsfontein - Fitter or Fitter and turner

2. **Millwright experience**: more mechanical related experience.

3. Higher level education**:NTS 4 or T2**

4. Practical work experience: Minimum of **8 Years**

Good knowledge of **motors and gearboxes**.

Good knowledge of **welding and gas cutting.**

**Able to work on a lathe machine.**

Achieve daily targets.

Understand company quality standards.

Follow Company safety standards

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

- Be a Team leader /Supervisor.
- Knowledge of different metals /steel.
- Willing to work shifts.
- **Do daily maintenance on machines.**

**- Planned maintenance schedules.**
- Have a **Code 08 Drives licence.**
- Own transport.
- Must have own tools.
- Must be able to start work at 06h00 (Day shift).
- Willing to be on standby for day shift, night shift and/or weekends.

Basic Salary:
R21 000.00 p.m. (Negotiable). Additional 9% block allowance, 20% performance Bonus both calculated from the basic salary (Performance based).

**Salary**: From R21,000.00 per month
