Warehouse Planner

**Job Description and Responsibilities**:

- Planning and preparing for new parts by analyzing incoming stock, assigning suitable storage locations and ensuring sufficient storage space for all different types of parts. This is to be achieved by analyzing the new parts for each new project (new model or model changes) and utilizing a KPI, indicating the number of free bins per zone, to make appropriate decisions before space becomes a limiting constraint
- Regulate the parts flow by controlling the master data set-up by means of timeously identifying and accurately capturing all new project and non-project parts on the ET2000 system according to storage type, storage section, put away strategy, bin type and picking area.
- Identify and correct areas where space constraints are experienced, or imminent, and take appropriate measures by either moving stock to alternate locations, or to suggest scrapping of obsolete parts
- Identify and correct parts not in suitable areas, such as fast moving parts in slow moving bins, or bin too small to store the appropriate quantity of parts, or inappropriate from a weight/ size/ safety perspective
- Periodic audits of racks and bins, and solving of identified problems
- Setting up of a reporting process whereby the operations (Putaway, picking) are able to report problem bins, inappropriate masterdata etc., and implementing corrective actions and/ or solving problems identified
- Maintaining all manner of demarcation, i.e. aisle numbers, zone descriptions, safety warnings, painted lines, etc. Problems to be identified through regular inspections and audits, and through reporting by operations
- Monitor and identify storage bins causing errors in the system and block/unblock these when required
- Issue reports from ET 2000 (ad hoc) i.e. Reports (preparation, running and issuing of, for instance, double locations, slow moving parts, etc.) to supervisors to enable them to address potential bottle necks

**Education and Experience**:

- A recognised 3 year National Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
- 5 years’ Previous operational experience gained in a warehouse/ distribution centre environment.

- Organized and methodical approach to tasks
- High level of detail consciousness/ accuracy

PREFERRED:

- Automotive Industry Parts & Accessories warehouse/ logistics experience will be an advantage
- Good interpersonal skills - able to deal with conflict constructively
- High level of energy, enthusiasm and work commitment
