Production Manager, Garment and Textile

To be involved with the planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes. You'll make sure goods and services are produced efficiently and that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality and to manage the whole process of production of the garments.
**Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Ensure that all the manufacturing targets are met.
- Oversee the production process, drawing up a production schedule.
- Ensure that the production is cost effective.
- Decide what resources are required.
- Draft a timescale for the job.
- Maintain the quality standards.
- Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed.
- Be responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment.
- Monitor product standards and maintain quality control programmes.
- Liaise among different departments, e.g. Trim Store, Dispatch, Cutting Room Supervisors.
- Work with managers to implement the company's policies and goals.
- Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed.
- Supervise and motivate a team of workers.
- Review worker performance.
- Identify training needs
- examine the finished product carefully and look for flaws in them and rectify immediately.
- check for the quality of the raw materials and standardize it
- coordinate with the main office from where the manufacturing orders come from
- Produce and examine reports from each individual manufacturing line.
- Responsible for any loss or damage of the material, machinery, equipment etc.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Must have a minimum of 8+years experience within a production/product management capacity
Must have a strong background garment manufacturing.
Experience in global sourcing, managing time and actions, and managing the product cycle from development to PO fulfilment
Excellent communication, multi-tasking, organisational and follow-up skills
Team management
Expertise in time and action calendars
Strong negotiation skills and relationship building experience.
Knowledge of garment construction, fit, and finishing
Master /Bachelor Degree in Textile IS A BONUS
Diploma/Degree in Production or Industrial Engineering IS A BONUS
Exposure to and implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles, ISO 9000
Extensive knowledge ofproduction processes and systems
Pay: R35 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
Work Location: In person
