Junior Cargo Superintendent

Attending to all operational functions surrounding MOL ACE owned / operated / managed Ro Ro PCC vessels calling at the port of Durban, East London, Port Elizabeth, Maputo, Walvis Bay, Etc. This includes all pre, alongside and post matters to ensure vessels and the cargoes arrive, off-load, load, and depart in a timeous, controlled, and cost-effective manner, in line with MOL ACE prescribed operating standards.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Daily Schedule Updates**

Obtain information from schedules and Sashidate updates. Accurately complete and despatch the Daily Terminal updates to TPT, Internal & External Stakeholders
- **Information Sharing**

Communicate all necessary information / amendments to required parties for each vessel call, in good time.
- **Disbursements**

Completion of Post PDI’s within 7 days of vessel/s departure, as per KPI / SOP timeline. Approval & coding of invoices in line with PDI declared costs, within the prescribed timing.
- **Vessel Cargo Operations**

Oversight of vessel operations which includes on-board vessel attendance, effective engagement with all service providers, authorities. Leadership in a positive and professional manner. Ensuring a safe & quality operation at all times.
- **Attendance / Attention to Pre & Post Vessel Operational Meetings**

Perform pre pre-plan to estimate efficient turnaround of vessel/s, in order to measure and strategise the best working operation to benefit MOL ACE. Report any serious damage or injury matters immediately and damages within 24 hours as required.

Qualifications / Experience:

- **Education Level**

Matric with mathematics or equivalent.
- **Experiences**

1-3 years working experience in the shipping industry, ideally with Pure Car & Truck Carrier exposure (PCTC).
- **Computer Skills**

MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point & Outlook).
- **Other Skills**

Excellent English language and communication skills - both written & verbal.

Analytical, Problem-Solving Skills, Ability to work under pressure.
