**Job Purpose**: The Department of Community Safety, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to assist with the implementation of safety and security tactical interventions to build departmental resilience in providing safety and security solutions and compilation of safety and security risk assessments. This post is based in Cape Town, CBD.
**Minimum Requirements**:
An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree/equivalent or higher); A minimum of 1 year relevant experience; A valid code B (or higher) driving license. Note: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities but have reasonable access to transport may also apply.

**Recommendation**: Working knowledge of the following: Risk Management ISO 31000, Business Continuity Management ISO 22301, Information Security ISO 27001 and security risk management.
**Key Performance Areas**: Influence security governance within the WCG institutions; Support the implementation of ISO aligned security methodologies for people, processes and technology with client departments (conduct safety and security risk assessments and investigation of breaches); To embed a positive security culture within facilities; Advise departments in terms of Occupational Health and Safety Compliance; Contribute towards sound human resource and budget practices.
**Competencies**: Technical knowledge and understanding of the following: Safety and Security related legislation, standards and regulations; Safety and Security Management; Risk Management processes; Applied strategic thinking; Creative thinking; Problem analysis; Problem solving and decision making; Communication (written and verbal) skills; Proven computer literacy in MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Ability to work independently and as part of a team
**Remuneration**: R 331 188 per annum (Salary Level 8) Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
