Finance Analyst

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Act as a Finance Business Partner to Engineering, Customer Service and Human Resources and work closely with the Executives in these departments to manage cost control and drive efficiencies
- Design and build financial reports that facilitate business decision-making and enables the business to meet financial and strategic objectives. This will include monthly tracking of spend against budget and making recommendations for cost control and saving.
- Seek out opportunities for automation through review and redesign of existing processes and reports
- Analyse and provide reporting monthly on the key profitability drivers of the business for each department and make recommendations for driving efficiencies
- Be the custodian of the hiring budget for engineering and human resources and prepare reports that assist the department in tracking hiring cadence and spend against budget.
- Understand business processes to identify areas for improvement/streamlining through gaining an understanding of dependencies, systems, automation risks and challenges within the finance team
- Evaluate data to make recommendations for continued or new business direction
- Consider multiple scenarios and points of view and potential outcomes for recommending actions based on analysis
- Be the custodian of the annual budget process for these departments and support the executives in preparing robust and accurate 5-year business plans and present these to the Group CEO and CFO
- Communicate and share recommendations and relevant information; and iterating analysis based on different business scenarios and assumptions
- Perform analysis to provide insights into areas of risk and opportunity to influence strategies and decisions
- Participate in special projects as needed to provide analytical and decision support on new initiatives
- Develop and maintain cross-functional relationships with key business partners to ensure alignment on strategies to maximise financial results

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Relevant financial degree/qualification - CA(SA) or CIMA
- 3+ Years relevant experience in an analytical/finance role
- Knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis acquired through related work experience
- E-Commerce or Retail experience will be an advantage
- High proficiency in advanced Excel
- Basic SQL
- Exposure to existing systems (TM1, Looker, Qlik, Sage)
