An opportunity exists for an Intermediate SQL Developer in Cape Town within a reputable online gaming organization with a strong history and a robust Business Intelligence (BI) team.

This role demands a highly motivated, energetic, and analytically minded individual with a solid technical foundation and a deep appreciation for data. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the value that can be derived from data analysis and the insights it can provide.

Your key job responsibilities as the SQL Developer in Cape Town will include:

- Integrating new data sources into company databases to enhance analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Streamlining data integration within workflow processes, with a focus on continuous improvement and data optimization.
- Collaborating across all stages of development, from analysis to implementation and support.
- Developing and testing solutions in alignment with specifications.
- Partnering with project teams across various functional areas.
- Analyzing data from multiple sources to enable the business to act proactively based on available insights.
- Exploring new and effective methods for acquiring, integrating, and analyzing data relevant to the company’s business model.
- Identifying opportunities to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
- Performing root cause analysis on data and processes to address specific business questions and uncover areas for improvement.
- Maintaining and supporting legacy SQL server systems in a business-critical environment.

Requirements for this SQL Developer job in Cape Town :

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a business intelligence role.
- 3-5 years of experience working with relational databases, including writing T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
- Proven experience in optimizing T-SQL queries.
- Familiarity with relational data modeling (e.g., Normal Form).
- Experience in building data pipelines.
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting.
- Ability to provide accurate technical estimates.
- Experience in conceptualizing new solutions based on business requirements.
- Consistent behavior aligned with the Organizational Culture.
