An opportunity has become available in our Outdoor Clothing Department for a resilient, innovative and resourceful Senior Buyer. The role requires someone who is able to travel and work with our local and international factories in order to build and procure ranges for the Men’s K-WAY apparel department.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Managing critical path for internal review and milestones as well as for manufacturing (local and international).
2. Managing OTB by constantly trading successful styles and turning off and negotiating non-performing styles.
3. Range execution in alignment with strategy and range science.
4. Proficient in value engineering across categories.
5. Comfortable with presenting to peers and leaders.
6. Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
7. Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, prices, and deliveries.
8. Effectively collaborating with the relevant stakeholders and departments, driving cross-silo collaboration.
9. Overseeing the product quality, fit, and seal process.
10. Effectively managing a Buyers Assistant.
11. Attend tradeshows and conferences to stay abreast of industry trends.
12. General buying administrative functions.

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications Required:

1. Grade 12 certificate and a relevant tertiary qualification is required.
2. Driver's license.
3. A minimum of 5 years retail merchandise buying experience is essential.
4. 2 years buying experience in product development.
5. In-depth knowledge of the retail product life cycle, merchandise buying principles, and critical path.
6. A working knowledge of the latest Microsoft packages is required.
7. Candidates with RMS and PLM experience will be given preference.
