Factory Foreman

Job Overview:

The Factory Foreman in the steel industry is a key managerial role responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily manufacturing operations within the steel production facility. Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Oversight:

- Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing activities in the steel production plant.

- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of orders.

- Optimize production processes to enhance efficiency and meet production targets.

2. Team Leadership:

- Lead and motivate a team of production workers and technicians.

- Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure a skilled and productive workforce.

- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

3. Quality Control:

- Implement and enforce quality control standards to ensure the production of high-quality steel products.

- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address quality issues.

- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to implement corrective actions.

4. Equipment Maintenance:

- Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.

- Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.

- Implement preventive maintenance schedules to prolong equipment life.

5. Safety Compliance:

- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.

- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents, implementing corrective measures.

6. Production Planning:

- Collaborate with production planners to develop schedules and allocate resources effectively.

- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for raw material requirements.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Matric
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the steel industry.
- Strong knowledge of steel manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control standards.

Preferred Skills:

- Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
