Role Impact

In this role, you'll contribute to transforming how businesses leverage data through AWS's distributed processing solutions. You'll collaborate with a diverse team to solve complex technical challenges and help customers optimize their big data implementations across multiple AWS services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support customers with big data services including Apache Spark, Hive, Presto, and other Hadoop ecosystem components.
2. Develop and share technical solutions through various communication channels.
3. Contribute to improving support processes and customer experience.
4. Participate in mentoring and knowledge sharing initiatives.
5. Collaborate on automation and optimization projects.

A Day in the Life

1. Engage with customers to resolve technical challenges across multiple AWS services.
2. Create technical documentation and educational content.
3. Collaborate with internal teams to enhance AWS services.
4. Learn and implement new technologies.
5. Contribute to team development activities.

Schedule Note: This role follows a flexible 5-day work week schedule, which may include weekends on rotation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. Good depth of understanding in Hadoop Administration, support and troubleshooting (Any two applications: Apache Spark, Apache Hive, Presto, Map-Reduce, Zookeeper, HBASE, HDFS and Pig).
2. Good understanding of Linux and Networking concepts.
3. Intermediate programming/scripting skills. Ideally in Java or Python, but will consider experience in other Object Oriented and Functional languages.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor's degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
2. Good understanding of distributed computing environments.
3. Prior working experience with AWS - any or all of EC2, S3, EBS, EMR.
