We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analyst Manager to lead and manage financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis for our business. This role requires strong strategic thinking, advanced financial modeling skills, and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to drive financial performance and business growth. Key Objectives:
- Continue to build a best-in-class FP&A function which is recognised and trusted throughout the Group
- Improve the budgeting & forecasting process to suit the needs and ambitions of the business, may require hiring a junior in future..
- To take overall responsibility for the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Group level cash flow planning process
- To provide value add reporting through cross-department business partnering.
- Develop, document, and maintain processes across departments to achieve the above objectives
- Provide recommendations across the business to drive long-term shareholder value
Detailed Responsibilities & tasks
- Act as the FP&A tool (Planful) expert for Finance and continuously look for ways to improve processes and analysis through the tool with a vision of moving to rolling forecasts and multi-scenario planning
- Liaise with the Revenue Manager (Finance), Account Managers (Client Services) & Business Development to build the quarterly Corporate Revenue forecast.
- Liaise with the Global teams to build their Revenue / Cost budgets. Oversee the Operational cost budgets with local Heads of Finance.
- Produce, enhance, and maintain budget templates tailored to the needs of the department and regional requirements.
- Ensure budget templates include appropriate dimensions (i.e., job roles, foreign exchange, offices) to allow enhanced forecasting insights for office P&Ls & cashflow forecasts)
- Review, enhance, and maintain the monthly departmental management accounts
- Hold monthly meetings with cost owners to understand & challenge variances to forecast.
- Proactively highlight risks and opportunities (i.e., cost efficiencies, client risks).
- Business partner and maintain financial models for ad hoc projects (i.e., ROI, revenue recognition models, profitability exercises, FX analysis)
- Work with the FP&A Director to implement enhanced, regular reporting/analysis with non-financial data to identify trends and capture opportunities
- Act as a key support contact for the Finance team for building complex models and excel support
- Seek to bring non-finance stakeholders into the Planful FP&A tool to allow department heads to build plans in the tool, self-serve reporting and increase efficiency in the planning process.
Requirements
- You will need to be based in Cape Town
- Relevant accounting qualifications (CA Articles, ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc)
- Advanced Excel skills including Power Query
- Strong attention to detail
- Proactive, with open regular communication with stakeholders
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills
- The desire and willingness to investigate and challenge information and action where appropriate
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload
- Preferred experience with FP&A / BI tools (I.e., Planful, Anaplan, Pigment, Power BI, Tableau etc)
