We are looking for a Head of Embedded Partner Oversight to join our fast-growing Financial Crime Operations team. This role will report to the Head of Financial Crime Operations.

As the Head of Embedded Partner Oversight, you will lead detailed, comprehensive assessments of all new Embedded Partners to evaluate the strength of their control environments. This will involve gaining an in-depth understanding of each partner’s operating model, including their systems, processes, controls, and team structure.

After a partner is live, you will oversee their ongoing monitoring and control performance, evaluating both qualitative and quantitative data to identify any residual risks, all in alignment with BVNK's risk taxonomy. Additionally, you will ensure that all oversight activities adhere to the established model, including chairing governance sessions as needed.

The role will involve direct engagement with Embedded Partners, and interaction across several internal functions which will require strong stakeholder management, organisation and communication skills.

This is an exciting and challenging role, and candidates must be robust to ensure BVNK’s Embedded Product Financial Crime Risk is within risk appetite.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, standards, industry guidance, and regulations.
- Lead Financial Crime Risk Assessments for new Embedded relationships, in line with established policies, standards, and procedures.
- Manage the ongoing monitoring and oversight of existing Embedded Partners, following standards and procedures.
- Ensure all oversight activities align with the Oversight Model.
- Define and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for both internal and external purposes to enable data-driven performance monitoring.
- Ensure timely escalation of material risks for consideration or action.
- Chair governance sessions for Embedded Partners as required.
- Track and ensure the closure of all remedial actions by their due dates.
- Maintain Embedded Partner Management Procedures, covering onboarding and oversight.
- Support the delivery of relevant aspects of the Embedded product change program.
- Build and maintain relationships with Embedded Partners and internal stakeholders to achieve role objectives.

Qualifications:

- Extensive experience in designing and maintaining effective financial crime risk and control environments, gained in either 1st or 2nd Line of Defense roles.
- Demonstrate expertise in risk and control frameworks and regulatory compliance related to financial crime.
- Solid understanding of sectors such as money remittance, payroll, and cryptocurrency.
- Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Possess strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, with high attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Stay informed about relevant legislation, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving and demanding environment, often with competing priorities.
- Happy working with a high degree of autonomy and managing evolving priorities to deliver against the team's strategy.
