Piping Engineer

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Piping Engineer with more than 10 years of expertise in the oil, gas, and construction industries. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in designing, installing, and maintaining piping systems for large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. This position is based in Saudi Arabia, and the candidate should be prepared to take on complex and demanding projects in the region.
Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the design, layout, installation, and maintenance of piping systems for oil, gas, and construction projects.
- Develop detailed piping designs, specifications, and layout drawings for projects in compliance with international codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.).
- Conduct stress analysis and material selection for piping systems to ensure durability, safety, and functionality under varying conditions.
- Oversee and review the preparation of isometric and general arrangement drawings, ensuring alignment with the project requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the piping design and installation meet project specifications and deadlines.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits on-site to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to select appropriate materials and vendors, ensuring cost-effective and quality materials for the piping systems.
- Manage and supervise the installation, commissioning, and testing of piping systems, ensuring alignment with project schedules.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges related to piping installation, including troubleshooting and providing corrective actions for system performance issues.
- Ensure that all activities comply with local, regional, and international safety and environmental standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support the development of less experienced staff.
- Participate in project meetings, review meetings, and ensure the timely delivery of project milestones in collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing project documentation, including technical reports, calculations, and specifications.
- Maintain close communication with clients and contractors, ensuring proper coordination and addressing any concerns related to piping engineering.
- Monitor the quality of work, conduct performance evaluations, and report regularly on the progress of the project.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in piping engineering, with a strong focus on the oil, gas, and construction industries.
- Extensive experience with piping design, installation, and commissioning for large-scale projects.
- In-depth knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.) and familiarity with local and international regulations.
- Strong understanding of stress analysis, material selection, and pipe support design.
- Proficiency in 3D piping design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PDMS, SmartPlant, or similar).
- Strong ability to troubleshoot complex piping systems and implement practical solutions.
- Excellent project management skills, with experience in coordinating teams and managing schedules.
- Proven ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and collaborate effectively across various departments.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to prepare technical reports and communicate clearly with clients and team members.
- Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is an advantage.

Preferred Skills:

- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Chartered Engineer, etc.).
- Knowledge of local Saudi Arabian engineering regulations and construction practices.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
