Regional Business Development Manager (Western Cape)
Location:
Western Cape Travel Requirement: Extensive travel within the region
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Regional Business Development Manager to lead business growth initiatives across the Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new collection partnerships, supporting entrepreneurs and buy-back centres, increasing collection volumes, and ensuring regional targets are achieved in line with industry and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management
- Identify and develop new collection partners, entrepreneurs, and buy-back centres.
- Grow collection volumes from existing suppliers and collection partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with municipalities, NGOs, community organisations, government stakeholders, and industry partners.
- Support the implementation of collection and separation-at-source initiatives.
- Monitor partner performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure timely delivery and management of operational assets and consumables.
- Conduct routine asset audits and verification.
- Monitor service levels and operational efficiency of collection infrastructure. Monitoring and Reporting
- Prepare and submit monthly operational and performance reports.
- Monitor collection volumes against regional targets and budgets.
- Track supplier and entrepreneur performance.
- Maintain accurate records of assets, consumables, applications, and enquiries.
- Analyse collection trends and identify opportunities for growth.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies.
- Make recommendations to improve operational performance and infrastructure utilisation. Business Development & Lead Generation
- Identify and secure new collection opportunities across the Western Cape.
- Establish and support new buy-back centres and collection projects.
- Engage with shopping centres, hospitality businesses, commercial establishments, and other potential collection sources.
- Evaluate and validate applications for business development support and investment.
- Maintain and update regional performance databases.
- Conduct market research and provide insights into collection opportunities and regional trends. Skills & Competencies
- Strong business development and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent networking and relationship-building ability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Presentation and negotiation skills.
- Sales and marketing experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong reporting and administrative abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a regional portfolio. Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Own reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the Western Cape.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (must have)
