Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Automated Pipelines

- Design and implement automated data pipelines that integrate data from multiple sources, including on-premise databases, cloud platforms, and third-party applications.

- Develop data ingestion, transformation, and storage processes that ensure high data quality, security, and scalability.

- Use Microsoft Fabric to manage and orchestrate data workflows, ensuring reliability and efficiency.

Solution Design & Architecture

- Lead the design of end-to-end data solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements and data engineering best practices.

- Architect and configure Azure resources, including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, and other relevant Azure services to support data warehousing and analytics needs.

- Establish best practices for cloud architecture, data governance, and cost management within Azure.

Azure Environment Management

- Take ownership of Azure setup, provisioning, and configuration management, ensuring secure and efficient cloud operations.

- Monitor and optimize the performance of Azure environments, managing storage, computing, and network resources to meet service-level agreements (SLAs).

Data Modeling & Database Management

- Develop and maintain data models that support business intelligence and analytics requirements.

- Optimize database performance and implement indexing, partitioning, and other strategies for efficient data retrieval.

- Document data models, metadata, and data flows, ensuring clarity and alignment with data governance standards.

Power BI Support & Data Visualization

- Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to ensure Power BI dashboards are aligned with data model structures.

- Provide guidance on Power BI data connectivity, security, and model optimization for self-service analytics.

- Implement data security and compliance practices in Power BI to ensure data privacy and integrity.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in Data Engineering, with hands-on experience in Azure cloud solutions and automated pipeline design.

Required Technical Skills

- Azure: Proficient in Azure cloud services, including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, and role-based access control.

- Microsoft Fabric: Strong experience in using Microsoft Fabric for building and managing data pipelines and orchestrating workflows.

- Data Modeling: Expertise in data modeling techniques, with experience in creating star schemas, dimensional models, and optimizing database structures for reporting and analytics.

- SQL: Advanced SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and performance optimization.

- Power BI: Familiarity with Power BI for supporting data model integration, security, and visualization practices.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in designing data solutions that integrate multiple cloud and on-premises data sources.

- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for ETL and data transformation tasks.

- Knowledge of data governance and compliance practices within a cloud environment.

- Microsoft certifications in Azure or Data Engineering are a plus.
