Summary:

The Construction Manager will oversee construction projects within the petrochemical oil and gas industry, ensuring all operations comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and project timelines. Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

Project Planning and Execution:

Quality Control and Compliance:

Budget and Resource Management:

Collaboration and Communication:

Requirements

- Minimum Grade 12 and N3 in related trade
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (Preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management.
- Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) and National Diploma in Construction Management are preferred.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, with a track record of managing construction teams
- Familiarity with the South African petrochemical industry and local regulations.

Skills:

- Strong technical knowledge of construction processes and project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Risk Management: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks.
- Contract Management: Experience in reviewing and managing contracts and negotiating terms.
- Crisis Management: Swift response to unexpected challenges with effective solutions.
- Environmental Awareness: Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainable practices.
- Mentoring and Coaching: Developing junior team members and fostering improvement.
