Instrumentation Electrician

Minimum requirements for the role:

- Must have a completed apprenticeship or diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation Technology
- Must be a certified Electrician or Instrumentation Technician
- Minimum 3 years experience in a production environment, achieving efficiency targets
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems
- Knowledge of safety protocols (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash) is essential
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes is advantageous
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems (up to 600V).
- Troubleshooting electrical issues using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment.
- Conducting electrical safety inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Wiring and connecting electrical devices, motors, and control panels.
- Installing, calibrating, and maintaining devices like pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
- Troubleshooting instrumentation issues with specialized tools and software.
- Configuring, programming, and performing loop checks and functional testing on instrumentation systems.
- Interpreting and working with electrical/instrumentation diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Collaborating with engineers, technicians, and other tradespeople.
- Developing and adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Participating in plant shutdowns, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Adhering to all health and food safety regulations, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory standards.
