The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, strategic planning, and leadership, with a proven track record as a Chartered Accountant, preferably within the online trading or financial investment sector, is highly desirable.

Key Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

- Financial Strategy and Planning: develop and implement the company's financial strategy to support the overall business objectives, by leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes by providing strategic financial insights to the CEO and board of directors.
- Financial Reporting: prepare and analyze financial statements and reports in compliance with accounting standards for internal and external stakeholders by providing accurate and timely financial information to support decision making ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis and compliance.
- Cash flow Management: monitor and manage cash flow to support operational needs and capital investments, implementing efficient cash management practices.
- Financial Controls: establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis, recommending adjustments to financial plans as necessary.
- Audit and Compliance: collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process, ensuring compliance with the FSCA's regulatory requirements and internal policies, and conducting internal audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Taxation: Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with relevant regulations, staying updated on changes in tax laws and advise management on potential impacts, optimizing tax strategies to minimise the company's tax liability.
- Banking: Opening of corporate accounts for commercial and international accounts and maintain relations between the various banks and Complyx.
- Regulatory Compliance: stay updated on changes in the FSCA's regulatory frameworks, playing a vital role in advising Complyx on how to navigate regulatory requirements as set out by the FSCA.
- Team Leadership: build and lead a high performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
- Ad Hoc Projects: participate in special financial projects and execute as assigned by the Group CFO or CEO.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance
- Chartered Accountant (CA) certification is required.
- 5 years + proven experience in financial accounting role preferably in online trading/financial investments industry.
- Proven experience within a BPO environment would be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations with the FSCA, and South African tax laws.
- Proficiency in financial software (Pastel/Priority) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strategic thinking: the ability to think strategically and contribute to the overall business strategy.
- Communication skills: excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with other executives, board members, and external stakeholders.
- Analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Leadership: proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Adaptability skills: strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
