Marine Electrician

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Marine Electrician or in a similar role, with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with electrical systems on ships, offshore platforms, or other marine vessels.
- Valid Marine Electrical Certification. Additional certifications related to marine systems, power generation, and safety are an advantage.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship or technical training in electrical engineering or marine electrical systems is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems and equipment, including AC/DC motors, switchboards, generators, transformers, electrical panels, and navigational equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical faults in marine environments, using both standard and advanced diagnostic tools.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical safety protocols and the ability to work in compliance with marine industry safety standards. Familiarity with hazardous locations and working safely in confined spaces is critical.
- Ability to work in challenging conditions, including confined spaces, high/low temperatures, and rough weather conditions on ships or offshore platforms.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members, engineers, and management.
- Willingness to work on vessels in port or offshore.
