Job Purpose

The Head of Finance will be responsible for the accounting and financial activities of Africa, Middle East and Central/West Asia, 9 countries.

Key Responsibilities

1. Create monthly and annual reports as required to identify results, trends, contract profitability and financial forecasts.
2. Manage cash flow and treasury through regular forecasting.
3. Supervise, manage and develop the Finance Department staff.
4. Constantly optimise the utilisation of the various accounting and reporting systems throughout the business.
5. Ensure completeness and accuracy of all financial transactions.
6. Comply with government regulations and legislation.
7. Lead the auditing processes with the external auditors and financial service providers to ensure proper compliance with all statutory regulations.
8. Production of yearly Statutory Accounts.
9. Lead the company's annual budgeting, planning and forecasting process.
10. Submit Corporation Tax, PAYE and VAT returns in accordance with regulatory requirements.
11. Provide key business insight to aid key strategic decision making and formulating business strategies.
12. Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions.
13. Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers.
14. Liaise with other function managers in order to build awareness and accountability for functional budgets.
15. Implementing and embedding corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls across the organisation.

Skills Required

1. CA (or equivalent) qualification or similar with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
2. Ability to produce accurate and timely management reports.
3. Familiar with Sales Taxes and cross border trading and completion of regulatory returns.
4. Experienced working across multiple territories in a fast moving global business.
5. Well-versed in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
6. Able to manage a small team ensuring they are motivated and developing in their professional standards.
7. Can work under pressure with multiple demands and tight deadlines in a dynamic business environment.
8. Initiates planning and performance improvement.
9. Sets high standards of performance for self and others.
10. Responds positively to new situations and challenges.
11. Pro-active, motivated and committed to developing own knowledge and skills.
