Veterinary Pathologist

As a Veterinary Pathologist at IDEXX, you will play a critical role in advancing the state of veterinary medicine. Your expertise in gross and microscopic examination of anatomic pathology specimens will be essential in preparing timely and accurate pathology reports.

The Department

Our veterinary team is dedicated to developing relationships with key opinion leaders in the industry and working closely with our lines of business to ensure world-class products and services for veterinarians and their practices.

In This Role

You will meet caseload and turnaround expectations, providing high-quality pathology reports that meet the needs of our clients.

You will provide telephone consultations to clients, offering expert advice and guidance on anatomic pathology specimens.

You will consult with and assist other pathologists as needed, promoting collegiality and collaboration within the team.

You will interact with, advise, and assist laboratory personnel in proper specimen processing techniques, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

You will promote the growth of IDEXX by actively participating in pathologist meetings and developing and maintaining professional relationships with clients.

You will participate in quality control programs, ensuring that our pathology services meet the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.

You will maintain proficiency and develop diagnostic skills through regular continuing education, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary pathology.

What You Will Need to Succeed

You are a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent, with a strong background in veterinary pathology.

You are familiar with current topics and issues in clinical veterinary medicine, with a focus on anatomic pathology.

You are able to type and use dictation equipment, with excellent communication skills and interpersonal capabilities.

You are able to work independently on routine tasks, with minimal guidance, and have a service-oriented attitude.

Experience in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory is preferred, with some experience in a diagnostic field (surgical pathology preferred).
