Job Title: Sr..NET Engineer/Architect #insurance

About the Role:

This is a hybrid role based in Johannesburg, South Africa, where you will work within our newly established Centre of Excellence. As a Sr..NET Engineer/Architect, you will play a key role in building and growing our Insurance technology practice. You will collaborate with a team of developers and technical experts who are passionate about delivering quality solutions for the Insurance applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, test, and install.NET applications across multiple platforms.
  • Prepare and maintain systems and program documentation.
  • Assist in the analysis and design of applications programs and databases.
  • Modify and troubleshoot applications programs.
  • Collaborate with IT management, project or maintenance team members, and other team members to evaluate, design, and provide technical solutions that support the architecture strategy and contribute to the delivery of cost-effective business solutions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with the design, development, modification, and deployment of software using Agile methodology, source version control, and release management tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that less technical people can understand.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Developed skills in the.NET language, architecture, and design standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of.NET tools, including.NET Framework, Visual Studio.NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET, and ADO.NET.
  • Developed.NET architecture skills and the ability to transfer these to specific project deliverables.
  • Previous experience with Duck Creek software is considered a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent degree required.
  • 5+ years developing software or web applications, including experience with an object-oriented language, required.
  • 5+ years working with Duck Creek Author, SQL,.net, SOAP or Restful web services, JavaScript, XML, Git or a similar version control/source code management tool is desired.
  • 1+ years of insurance or financial industry background is desired.
