Diesel Mechanic Job Description

Ikwezi Mining seeks a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on earthmoving equipment.
  • Assess equipment condition and complete job cards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service during field visits or dispatches.
  • Tie workflow to schedule to ensure efficient operations.
  • Manage on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
  • Detect and resolve technical issues.
  • Produce accurate and detailed service reports.
  • Operate vehicles safely and utilize field automation systems.
  • Comply with company procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with the technical team and share knowledge across the organization.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
  • English literacy essential
  • Post-matric qualification / N3
  • Must be a qualified earthmoving equipment mechanic or diesel mechanic (trade tested)
  • 5 years' experience after qualification – with traceable references
  • Auto electrical experience advantageous
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proven field service experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules
