We seek an experienced Accountant to work closely with our clients at Ability Executive Recruitment.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Maintain accurate financial and tax reporting.
  2. Adhere to management and implementation of accounting and reporting controls.
  3. Prepare and submit IT14's on e-filing.
  4. Submit provisional tax returns.
  5. Reconcile and submit VAT and Withholding Tax returns for South African and foreign entities.
  6. Assist in compiling annual budgets and forecasts.
  7. Review bank reconciliations monthly.
  8. Process general journal entries and consolidation entries.
  9. Manage and review trial balances for all reporting entities.
  10. Reconcile general ledgers and sub-ledgers.
  11. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  12. Compile and review monthly management accounts.
  13. Closure of month-end and year-end accounts systems.
  14. Liaise with internal and external auditors.
  15. Authorize payments on the banking system.
  16. Develop, monitor, review, and implement internal accounting policies.

Necessary Qualifications

  • B. Com Honours or bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Desirable: articles.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting/reporting.
  • Desirable: staff management experience.
  • Valuable: Cognos experience.
  • Preferred: CaseWare and Draftworx experience.
