We are seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to join our team as a Fire Safety Specialist - Design and Compliance Expert. This role will be responsible for developing fire safety and compliance designs, providing expert input into thermal modeling, and conducting comprehensive fire risk assessments.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Develop fire safety and compliance designs in line with SANS regulations, including rational building fire safety design, firefighting equipment, smoke evacuation systems, stair pressurization systems, and fire sprinkler systems* Provide expert input into thermal modeling (if applicable)* Conduct comprehensive fire risk assessments* Manage small to medium-sized projects independently, from consultation through design, documentation, and compliance checks* Travel across South Africa to conduct site visits, consultations, and project management tasks as required* Collaborate with clients, brokers, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire safety solutions into broader construction and risk mitigation projects* Prepare tender documentation and assist with project management administration* Educate clients on fire safety requirements, offering clear recommendations to enhance compliance and reduce risk* BEng/BSc/BTech in Mechanical Engineering* Minimum of 5 years experience in the mechanical building services sector, with specific expertise in fire safety design* Registration with ECSA* Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, and Revit* Extensive knowledge of SANS regulations for rational building fire safety design* Proven experience in designing firefighting equipment, smoke evacuation systems, stair pressurization systems, and fire sprinkler systems* Experience in thermal modeling is advantageous* Demonstrated ability to develop fire safety and fire compliance designs for multidisciplinary construction projects* Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage documentation and administrative tasks effectively
