About the Role:

  • We are looking for a talented individual to design and develop mechanical equipment for process plants, including piping and pressure vessels.
  • You will engage in all phases of mechanical projects: planning, concept design, detailed design, manufacturing, quality control, installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • As a Senior Mechanical Equipment Designer, you will create detailed 3D concepts and models, reviewing process plant layouts for optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are required to read and interpret process and instrumentation diagrams accurately.
  • You will solve complex engineering problems using advanced analysis software.
  • Review and ensure compliance of pressure equipment and piping fabrication packs.
  • Prepare specifications for piping and valves and provide mechanical inputs for datasheets.
  • Collaborate on multi-disciplinary projects to achieve effective design integration.
  • Continuously expand your knowledge of industry-specific design standards and specifications.

What We're Looking For:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design.
  • Proficiency in 3D design and engineering software such as Autodesk Inventor and Plant 3D.
  • Familiarity with piping and pressure vessel design software (e.g., CAEPIPE, CAESAR, PV-Elite) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of pressure equipment design codes (ASME, SANS, EN) and mechanical design principles.
