Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Consultant to join our Cape Town Environmental team. As an Assistant Consultant, you will play a key role in providing support on environmental projects, including environmental authorisation procedures, stakeholder engagement/public participation, and compliance auditing.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the South African environmental legislation and experience in Basic Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, Environmental Management Plans, and Compliance Auditing projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the delivery of Basic Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, Environmental Management Plans, and Compliance Auditing projects.
- Conduct field work as required.
- Work collaboratively with other specialist teams within WSP, including air quality, water services, contaminated land, and geotechnical services.
- Ensure good working knowledge of the South African environmental legislation.
- Meet deadlines for tasks and deliverables.
- Model safe health and safety practices and contribute to the identification of SHEQ risks.
- An Honours or higher degree in a relevant environmental discipline.
- A minimum of 1 year work experience in an environmental consulting environment.
