We are a dynamic organization seeking a skilled HR Officer to join our team in Richards Bay.

About the Project :

We are undertaking a 12-month project that requires the recruitment and management of local employment. As an HR Officer, you will play a key role in supporting this project.

About the Job :

  • Coordinate the recruitment and selection process for unskilled and semi-skilled workers (local employment).
  • Work closely with project managers and other teams to determine staffing requirements.
  • Assist in the onboarding process, including documentation, orientation, and training coordination for new hires.
  • Manage employee records and ensure compliance with all relevant HR policies and local labor laws.
  • Act as a liaison between the workforce and management, addressing any HR-related issues.
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits, leave, and attendance records.
  • Support the HR team in maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
  • Assist with employee relations and resolve any workplace conflicts or issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date recruitment and staffing records.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations for the workforce.

About You :

  • You will have proven experience in HR management, particularly in recruitment for unskilled and semi-skilled labor.
  • You will possess a strong understanding of local labor laws and employment practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • You will be able to manage and prioritize multiple HR tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of HR software and tools for record-keeping is advantageous.
  • Previous experience working on industrial or construction projects is an asset.
  • You will be able to work independently and be proactive in addressing HR challenges.

Requirements :

  • A matric / Grade 12 qualification is required.
  • A relevant HR qualification (Degree or Diploma) is preferred.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in an HR role, ideally in recruitment for unskilled or semi-skilled workers.
