Project Financial Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Financial Controller to join our team at West Coast Personnel. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our construction projects.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Project Financials: Ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting for multiple construction projects.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare and monitor project budgets, providing regular updates on financial performance.
  • Cost Tracking: Oversee project cost control, ensuring all expenses are aligned with the project budget.
  • Invoicing and Payments: Ensure timely and accurate invoicing to clients and processing of supplier/subcontractor payments.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports for each project, including cost-to-complete projections and profitability analysis.
  • Compliance: Ensure all financial transactions are compliant with internal controls, accounting standards, and legal requirements.
  • Liaison with Project Teams: Work closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and other stakeholders to support financial decision-making.


Requirements:


  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Project Accountant in the construction or building industry.
  • Qualifications: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Procore, etc.) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and an exceptional eye for detail in financial documentation and reporting.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams, contractors, and clients.
  • Problem-solving: Ability to proactively identify and resolve financial discrepancies, helping ensure project budgets and financials remain on track.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
