As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in providing local advice to leadership and supporting the development of our renewable energy assets in the Southern African Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • General Counsel: Provide strategic legal advice to the management team and ensure compliance with provincial and federal laws.
  • Contract Management: Draft and review strategic contracts and partnerships to align with Envusa Energy's strategy.
  • Intellectual Property: Protect and manage intellectual property assets.
  • Advisory Services: Serve as a trusted advisor to the management team and provide advice on legal matters.
  • Risk Management: Ensure adherence to governance, risk, and compliance framework and government regulations.
  • Secretarial Services: Provide advice and secretarial services to the Corporate Leaders and Envusa Board.
  • Employment Issues: Partner with leaders and HR to resolve employment issues.
  • External Counsel: Manage the provision of legal services by external lawyers and law firms in a cost-effective manner.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Graduate in Law or related discipline, with relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA or equivalent).
  • Experience: Experience in startup-specific areas like intellectual property, corporate law, labor law, and securities law, with a strong understanding of governance and corporate legal requirements.
  • Skills: Ability to deal with complex and inter-dependent legal agreements, strong research and communication skills, and leadership abilities.
