Job Title: Logistics Store Controller

At Rectitude Recruit, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Store Controller to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our logistics operations, including fleet management, route planning, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Utilize strong problem-solving skills to think on your feet and make informed decisions to ensure efficient operations.
  • Results-Driven: Focus on meeting deadlines and targets, demonstrating ambition and dedication to the role and the fleet.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure customer satisfaction at all times, maintaining a high level of service and communication.
  • Technical and Mechanical Skills: Possess technical and mechanical knowledge to effectively manage the fleet and resolve issues.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Develop and maintain excellent communication skills to work effectively with all personnel, ensuring smooth operations and resolving issues promptly.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks on and off site, ensuring a safe and secure working environment.
  • Route Planning and Briefing: Plan and brief drivers on the most economical routes to take, ensuring efficient operations and minimizing costs.
  • Issue Resolution: Communicate with drivers and clients to address any issues that may arise, resolving problems promptly and efficiently.
  • Fleet Management: Monitor and manage the fleet's diesel consumption, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Breakdowns and Accidents: Attend to breakdowns and accidents, implementing alternative plans to ensure delivery and minimize inconvenience to customers.
  • Team Leadership: Chair weekly toolbox talks, provide guidance and motivation to the team, and address any concerns or problems that may arise.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure seamless communication and information exchange related to shipments.
  • Fleet Monitoring: Live monitor the fleet, identifying areas for improvement and implementing measures to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Driver Training and Onboarding: Provide driver training and onboarding, ensuring new drivers are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Standby and Debriefing: Be on 24-hour standby for drivers and participate in weekly debriefing sessions to discuss operations and address any concerns.
  • Discipline and Enforcement: Enforce discipline and take disciplinary action when necessary, maintaining a safe and secure working environment.
  • Yard Maintenance: Ensure the premises are kept neat and clean, delegating tasks as necessary to maintain a safe and secure working environment.
  • Reporting and Incentives: Prepare and review driver incentives monthly, presenting weekly and monthly reports to managers and directors.
  • Ad Hoc Duties: Perform ad hoc duties as required, ensuring the smooth running of operations and maintaining a high level of service to customers.
