Position Title: Cost Management Associate
Role Overview: We are looking for a proficient and knowledgeable Cost Management Associate to become part of our dynamic team. This role involves overseeing the financial aspects and contractual agreements of construction initiatives, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule while upholding superior quality and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical capabilities and leadership skills to guide a team of cost management professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee comprehensive cost management and quantity surveying services for construction projects.
- Develop precise cost estimates, budgets, and financial documentation.
- Conduct feasibility assessments and risk evaluations.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Track project progress and financials against established budgets and timelines.
- Provide expert guidance on contractual issues and conflict resolution.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Offer technical support and direction to the entire commercial management team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional QS registration with the SACQSP.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in quantity surveying, particularly in large-scale construction projects.
- Demonstrated success in managing costs and contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Strong technical knowledge, analytical, and numerical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite, including WinQS and DimX.
- Experience in Sub-Saharan projects is preferred.
- Experience in Data Centre and Hospitality sectors is advantageous.
