Job Title: Financial Crime Specialist

Black Pen Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Financial Crime Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our compliance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our financial systems and preventing financial crime.

Job Summary

The Financial Crime Specialist will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations into customers and their activities, reviewing high-risk clients and transactions, and producing high-quality reports and briefings. You will work closely with our financial crime team to identify and mitigate financial crime risks, and provide guidance and support to our business partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct targeted and thorough investigations into customers and their activities
  • Review high-risk clients and transactions, and escalate any exceptions
  • Produce high-quality reports and briefings, including Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and internal reports
  • Provide guidance and support to our business partners on financial crime risks and mitigation strategies
  • Work closely with our financial crime team to identify and mitigate financial crime risks
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Compliance, Risk, Finance, Legal, or equivalent combination of educational and work experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in the financial services industry, law enforcement, or regulatory field
  • Fluent English, French, and Arabic are beneficial, and a combination of local languages is essential for this role
  • Working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and AML Regulations, USA Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Assets Control
  • Ability to operate multi-nationally with internal business partners and external partners/third-party vendors
  • Ability to work in a self-directed and remote environment
