Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Analyst to join our Business Solutions team at Old Mutual. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of business solutions that drive growth and innovation.

About the Role

  • Assist in the construction of solutions, including programming, systems testing, and correction of programme models, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet business requirements.
  • Interpret and execute test plans or assist in developing test plans in conjunction with Systems Analysts, Senior Analyst Programmers, or Business Analysts, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Develop technical specifications/program specifications and some systems documentation, showcasing your expertise in system analysis and design.
  • Take on basic systems analyst functions, applying your analytical skills to drive business outcomes.
  • May assist with analyzing system design requirements, providing valuable insights to improve system performance.
  • Advise Management on effective applications, covering areas such as maintenance, support, man-machine interface, and data management requirements, leveraging your expertise to inform strategic decisions.
  • Provide sizing and scoping for development work required, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • May take the lead on smaller work initiatives, demonstrating your ability to manage projects and drive results.
  • May coach and mentor junior/new staff (programmers), sharing your knowledge and expertise to develop the next generation of professionals.
  • Maintain open communication with stakeholders, working collaboratively to achieve shared goals.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree (B) or Diploma (Dip) in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, systems testing, and correction of program models.
  • Experience with system analysis and design, including the development of technical specifications and systems documentation.
  • Knowledge of business applications, including maintenance, support, man-machine interface, and data management requirements.
