Job Purpose:

As a Casino Cashier for MSC Cruises, you will be responsible for receiving and exchanging cash and coins, chips and checks, credit and/or other monetary notes for guests in the Casino.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service skills to interact appropriately with guests in a considerate, professional, and positive manner.
  • Communicate tactfully with guests, department heads, and shipboard employees to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
  • Count chips and paper currency quickly and accurately.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety of software packages such as Excel and Word.
  • Provide Casino information to guests regarding cashiering services available.
  • Exchange chips, cash, coins, checks, credit, and/or other monetary notes, accurately counting chips, cash, and coins in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Operate electronic coin counters or count chips to determine correct exchange values.
  • Provide guests with paper currency and/or coin equivalency.
  • Obtain approval for ship credit transactions; charge individual accounts for funds issued.
  • Conduct Casino table games according to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Acknowledge the handling of cards, chips, money, and other gaming equipment at an appropriate rate to maintain the proper pace of the game.
  • Inform players of the rules and regulations as the game progresses.
  • Recognize playing styles and maintain awareness of guests to avoid possible security risks.
  • Participate in casino cash and coin counts as assigned by casino management.

Qualifications:
  • Experience working as a Casino Dealer with high performance ratings or as a Dealer in a live Casino on land or cruise line.
  • 1 year experience in a similar role.

Required Documents:
  • Valid South African Passport.
  • Police Clearance.
