Solar Project Engineer

Join Engineered Sourcing as a Solar Project Engineer and contribute to the development of innovative solar projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing and qualifying potential solar project sites, conducting production studies, and designing forecasts using industry-leading tools like Helioscope and PVSyst.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Site Qualification & Production Studies: Conduct thorough site assessments and production studies to ensure optimal solar project performance.
  • Energy Yield Assessment (EYA): Collaborate with third-party companies to optimize energy yield and ensure technical accuracy.
  • Engineering Layout Optimization: Define and optimize the basic engineering layout, focusing on CAPEX, OPEX costs, and solar performance.
  • Electrical Studies: Design and size solar arrays, with an emphasis on integration of Battery Energy Systems (BESS) when necessary.
  • Equipment Selection: Choose appropriate structures, inverters, modules, and SCADA systems based on project requirements.
  • Procurement & Budgeting: Handle Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) request for quotation processes, liaise with major equipment suppliers, and provide initial pricing and CAPEX/OPEX budget updates.
  • Technical Support & Client Communication: Present technical alternatives or solutions to clients, providing a technical overview that aligns with their needs.
  • Financial Modelling & Contract Negotiations: Actively participate in EPC and O&M contract negotiations, collaborating with other departments on financial modeling.
  • Project Acquisition: Conduct audits of environmental, legal, and technical documents, inspect solar equipment, and verify electrical output forecasts.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 4 to 7 years of experience in the solar sector, with a strong understanding of the technical aspects of solar projects.
  • Software Proficiency: Mandatory knowledge of PVSyst, Helioscope, or other PV system design tools.
