We are seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic Press Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Shoprite. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of our hydraulic press machinery.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in mechanical engineering and maintenance, with a strong focus on hydraulic systems. You will be responsible for managing a team of plant engineers, developing and implementing maintenance standards, and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management: Manage and motivate subordinates effectively, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork within the maintenance department.
  2. Maintenance Planning and Execution: Develop and implement maintenance plans, including routine maintenance, shutdowns, and repairs, to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  3. Training and Development: Train and develop plant engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge, ensuring they are equipped to meet the demands of the role.
  4. Audit and Compliance: Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to maintenance business processes, OHASA standards, and other relevant regulations.
  5. Problem-Solving: Demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, identifying and resolving complex maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent, N4 Certificate - Mechanical Engineering, Qualified Millwright, and minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing plant maintenance.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, ability to communicate and manage a team, problem-solving abilities, familiarity with OHASA standards, good knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, and computer literacy.
