The Role of the Financial Accountant
This position involves assisting in the preparation of routine financial reports, processing journal entries, and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validation of Regional Data
Validate information received from regions relating to hosted employees.
Invoice ProcessingProcess invoices received from various sources.
Charge ReconciliationReconcile monthly charges to HR reports and raise accruals for employees where invoices have not been received.
Payroll Report UpdateUpdate payroll reports post-processing.
SAP ReconciliationReconcile employee cost accounts in SAP to payroll reports.
Discrepancy ResolutionResolve discrepancies and queries relating to employee costs.
Audit PreparationPrepare annual audit information for external auditors relating to employee costs.
Financial Process ImprovementRecommend improvements to efficiency using automation as a partner in the accounting process.
Effective ControlsImplement effective financial controls, including systems reconciliations, ensuring the integrity of reported figures.
Month-End ActivitiesPlan and execute month-end activities, including preparation and processing of month-end journal entries.
Additional TasksPerform any other relevant tasks as requested by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work under pressure, and have a keen eye for detail.
You will also need to demonstrate good planning and organizational abilities, be proactive, and take initiative with a solutions-oriented approach.
In terms of qualifications, a bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting or finance is required, along with seasoned experience in financial accounting and working with financial systems/software.
