As a Professional Nursing Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with facility managers, educators, and learner representative organisations in identified clusters. Your role will involve mapping out community-based organisations and hotspots for mobilisation of vulnerable adolescent girls and young women, as well as implementing and maintaining HIV testing services (HTS) programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with facility managers, educators, and learner representative organisations in identified clusters.
- Map out community-based organisations and hotspots for mobilisation of vulnerable adolescent girls and young women.
- Implement and maintain HIV testing services (HTS) programmes and screen adolescent girls and young women to identify vulnerable beneficiaries.
- Implement a package of integrated sexual and reproductive health services, including HIV counselling and testing, ART initiation, PrEP initiation, pregnancy testing, contraception, post-exposure prophylaxis, TB screening, STI screening and management, creatinine clearance, screening for mental health, substance and alcohol abuse, GBV care, risk perception and reduction counselling, and adherence and continuation support.
- Identify victims of gender-based violence and provide minimum packages of post-violence care services, including HIV testing, PEP, EC, STI screening, psychosocial support, and linkage to medical forensic services.
- Ensure navigation and referral of all new cases for psycho-social support to SAWs and social worker interventions.
- Collaborate with Department of Basic Education (DBE), Department of Social Development (DSD), Department of Health (DOH) managers, and community role-players to scale up THC's package of services.
- Provide mentorship to initiation and retention team members.
- Adhere to Infection Prevention Control (IPC) standards and minimise the risk of needle stick injuries by ensuring that all staff follow recommended protocols.
- Implement Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) protocols and ensure that all staff adhere to the protocols.
