Job Description

A market leader and well-established company in the imported packaging industry is seeking a Quality Controller to fill a key position.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Attend all quality control issues and travel to clients for Cape Town based branch and Paarl based plant.
  • Investigate customer complaints, write reports, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Run trials on new products, test packaging, and sample incoming goods.
  • Store retention samples, maintain storage, and oversee upkeep of storage facilities.
  • Ensure outsourced tests are conducted, results obtained, and communicated effectively.
  • Visit clients to resolve quality-related complaints, provide solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Order consumables, staff PPE, and manage inventory levels.
  • Work on SAP to transfer stock for repacked/sorted stock, maintaining accurate records.
  • Update supplier information for BRCGS audit, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist quality assurance manager during BRCGS audit, collect food safety certificates, and verify documentation.
  • Conduct internal audits for BRCGS certification purposes, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping around the factory, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Book trainings for staff with relevant service providers, enhancing skills and knowledge.
  • Liaise with service providers regarding maintenance, training, and other services.
  • Maintain quality checks of machinery, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Participate as a member of the Health and Safety team, contributing to a culture of safety.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • Grade 12, tertiary qualification; minimum diploma in packaging, food safety, quality or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and own transport for traveling to clients and branches.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in the wine industry.
  • Excellent computer literacy, including SAP and Excel.
  • Strong integrity values and morals, with attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated and hands-on.
  • Willing to travel nationally and internationally, adapt to new situations, and take initiative.
Package & Remuneration

R20,000 to R35,000 CTC (depending on experience)
