Job Overview:

The Inventory Coordinator position is responsible for ensuring that totes processed by workflow are accurately picked according to priority, date, and colour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Daily statistics include a minimum of 1450 items to be picked within specified targets.
  • Pickers must adhere to daily requirements and minimize picking errors to avoid unnecessary time wastage.
  • Pick totes with high-priority items first, following the SLA (Service Level Agreement) for every day.
  • In case of invalid totes, pickers should remove them from the inventory and place empty boxes back at workflow.

Stock Management:

  • Pickers will encounter empty bins while picking; in such cases, they should circle the bin number on the tote and put it on the To-Follow shelf.
  • When stock challenges arise, pickers must ensure they check all bin numbers listed on the tote before placing items on the To-Follow shelf.

Fine-Pick Integration:

  • For totes requiring Fine-Pick, pickers will identify the parcel and move it to the Fine-Pick shelf after completing the full pick.
  • If an item on the tote lacks a bin number or requires Fine-Pick, the picker will circle it and write 'FP' before moving it to the Fine-Pick shelf.

Steel Cupboard Procedures:

  • Certain totes have 'VUSI CUPB' written on them; these must be picked entirely before being placed on top of the steel cupboard.
  • Only allocated personnel are allowed access to the cupboard, and key holders can retrieve the keys from workflow.
Adherence to GPP:
  • Pickers must enforce compliance to SOPs specific to their post and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • A Grade 12 education with Pure Maths and Physical/Life Sciences is required for this role.
