About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Coach to join our team at Virgin Active South Africa Pty Ltd. As a Swim Coach, you will be responsible for teaching scheduled swim lessons for children, promoting and running poolside activities, and providing a supportive customer experience role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach scheduled swim lessons for children and ensure all poolside activities are promoted and run effectively.
  • Provide a supportive customer experience role, providing personal attention and care to all customers.
  • Create and develop creative and innovative classes following the Virgin Active and STA swim criteria that also supports the Virgin Active brand.
  • Ensure all juniors are assessed regularly, retained, and moved through our programme.
  • Be punctual, reliable, and adhere to the high standards of organisation required by the company.
  • Attend training courses to enable you to carry out your role successfully and to assist with your future career progression.
  • Ensure a safe environment is kept at all times for the juniors and report any concerns to the Swim Manager or MOD as soon as possible.
Requirements
  • A passion and awareness for Swimming and legal requirements.
  • Swim South Africa/STA Full Swim Instructor qualification (or recognized equivalent).
  • Great passion and pride in their own work.
  • Ability to work from instruction effectively and safely with minimal supervision.
  • A flexible attitude to working patterns.
  • Demonstration of the Virgin Active Values.
  • Drive, passion, and commitment to work within a fast-paced business.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and someone who is approachable to members and other employees at all times.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • A flexible attitude to working patterns with ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Clear Police Clearance Check (prior to commencing).
