Role Overview

At Alstom, we are seeking an Industrial Data Technician to join our team as a Supply Chain Key User. This role will be based at the Gautrain Maintenance Depot in Midrand, Johannesburg.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage ERP work packages for Supply Chain and associated landscapes as a Key User.
  • Evaluate data consistency and reliability for all Supply-Chain and Sourcing ERP master data (MM).
  • Train end users and provide support to ERP usage.
  • Develop and maintain Material Master Data for the Supply Chain domain (Material planning and Logistics MM) fields and validate data in alignment with Industrial flows.
  • Analyze ERP data inconsistency messages coming from various departments: Warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, method, industrialization, sourcing, and ensure compliance to Internal Financial rules.
  • Resolve ERP error messages specific to master data quality and implement corrective actions; review, measure, monitor.
  • Provide ERP technical support for business-Maintenance site.
  • Serve as a reference for end users in case of ERP system and technical issues, process gaps, or clarification. Supply chain(Material planning & Logistics) + Repair Loop Controller support.
  • Prepare data (review and cleanse, format, load, test, and validate) and support with User Acceptance Tests (UATs) for upgrades, change requests, and new landscapes from the DT community.
  • Contribute to training documentation creation or localization when required, validation, and issuing at central level.
  • Logistics-Physical material flows i.e., logistics type, storage type, bin locations, valuation types.
  • Material planning-correct maintenance of MRP parameters i.e., Proc type, lot sizes, GRN, lead times, GR times, planning time fence.
  • Repair loop controller-equipment creation, repair notification management ext. and int.
  • Ensure proper usage of Fiori – Material Planning Cockpit (MPC)-OTIF, coverage.
  • Assign business roles with needed authorizations (Duty and Segregation/manage conflicts and ensure compliance to global SOD targets).
  • Create measurement framework for performance for Supply chain and Logistics domain function.
  • KPI responsible, analyze, and contribute to a data-driven culture within the organization | inform business performance using tools I.e., Qlik Sense, Celonis, BI & BW. Management reporting and action plan management.
  • Ensure good governance across overall Supply chain stream, end-to-end from Material planning to Warehouse(MM) management on the system-GSI & other.
  • Contribute to training documentation issuing at central level and write local documents if necessary.
  • Train new entrants & refresher training for existing users on their specific area of competence.
