At HR Genie, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing project control processes and procedures, monitoring project progress and performance, and ensuring adherence to schedule and budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project control processes and procedures to ensure project success.
  • Monitor project progress and performance to identify potential risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, cost estimates, and resource plans to ensure accurate project forecasting.
  • Collaborate with project team members to track and report on project deliverables, and provide regular project status updates to senior management.
  • Ensure that project schedules, cost estimates, and resource plans are accurate and up-to-date, and that project performance is measured and reported regularly.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in project management, such as PMP or PgMP.
  • Certification in project controls, such as CCP or PSP.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project controls, including planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex projects in industries such as construction, engineering, oil & gas, or infrastructure.
  • Strong familiarity with project management methodologies, such as PMBOK or PRINCE2.
  • Experience working with project management and controls software, such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or Asta Powerproject.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree or postgraduate qualification in project management or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in leading a project controls team, with direct responsibility for developing and managing schedules, budgets, and project control processes.
  • Strong leadership abilities to manage and motivate a team of project control specialists.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to ensure milestones and deliverables are met on time.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Core Competencies:
  • Schedule Performance Index (SPI): Maintaining a project SPI of 1 or above to ensure projects are on schedule.
  • Cost Performance Index (CPI): Achieving a CPI of 1 or above to ensure projects are completed within budget.
  • Earned Value Accuracy: Ensuring that earned value reports accurately reflect project status, with variances below 5%.
  • Forecast Accuracy: Providing accurate project forecasts with variance from actuals of less than 5%.
  • Change Request Management: Monitoring and controlling project scope changes, with less than 10% of changes leading to significant cost or schedule overruns.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction: Achieving a stakeholder satisfaction rate of 90% or above through regular communication and transparent reporting.
Behavioral Competencies:
  • Attention to Detail: Must have a strong focus on accuracy, ensuring all project data and reports are reliable and precise.
  • Proactive Approach: Ability to anticipate potential issues and implement corrective measures before they impact project progress.
  • Strong Leadership: Ability to lead and inspire the project controls team, providing clear direction and fostering a collaborative working environment.
  • Adaptability: Must be able to adapt to changes in project scope, timelines, and resources, and respond with flexibility.
  • Effective Communicator: Able to present complex data and information clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Must be a critical thinker with the ability to identify challenges, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
  • Resilience: Able to maintain performance under pressure and handle multiple projects or issues simultaneously with a calm, solution-oriented mindset.
