Job Title: Design Engineer - Mechanical Systems

We are looking for a talented BSc Mechanical Engineer with expertise in designing and developing mechanical systems for our dynamic Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) team at Job Masters Pty Ltd. As a Design Engineer - Mechanical Systems, you will play a key role in creating innovative and efficient mechanical systems for industrial and infrastructure projects in South Africa.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems that meet client requirements.
  • Develop detailed technical drawings and specifications for mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Ensure mechanical systems comply with relevant engineering standards and codes.

Mechanical System Design:

  • Create innovative and efficient mechanical systems.
  • Evaluate system designs against engineering standards and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integrated solutions.

Technical Specifications:

  • Develop detailed technical specifications for mechanical systems.
  • Evaluate technical specifications against engineering standards and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure compliance with technical specifications.

System Integration:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Evaluate system integration against engineering standards and project requirements.
  • Provide input on system integration during project meetings.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure mechanical systems comply with relevant engineering standards and codes.
  • Evaluate system designs against regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • BSc in Mechanical Engineering (ECSA registration is an advantage).
  • 3-7 years of experience in mechanical design and development within an EPC environment.
  • Strong knowledge of piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, HVAC, and rotating/static equipment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Caesar II, or other design software.
  • Experience with design software and tools is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards and codes in South Africa.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
