Workshop Foreman Job Description

We are seeking an experienced automotive expert to lead our workshop team at First Degree Recruitment. As a Workshop Foreman, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring high-quality work and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of skilled technicians to deliver excellent customer service and quality repairs.
  • Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics to maintain workshop standards and ensure safety compliance.
  • Coordinate the repair and maintenance of vehicles, prioritizing tasks and managing resources effectively.
  • Liaise with customers regarding repairs, parts, and service updates, providing clear communication and solutions.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of parts and tools, ensuring timely availability.
  • Ensure the workshop remains clean, organized, and safe at all times, promoting a positive working environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a vehicle technician, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a similar automotive environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, repairs, and diagnostics, with a focus on premium and volume brands like Toyota, Ford, and BMW.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and managing competing priorities.
  • Valid South African Driver's License and relevant automotive qualifications, such as a Trade Test.
