Key Responsibilities

  • Strive for a Zero-breakdown & Zero-Stop mentality by delivering efficient service to the manufacturing plant, enhancing machine availability and efficiency through effective maintenance practices.
  • Execute timely and effective breakdown repairs, as well as planned and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Aim to lower maintenance costs, including reducing working capital for spare parts through proactive and preventative maintenance of machinery within the manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with the engineering team and internal stakeholders to minimize the impact of machine changeovers and swiftly resolve breakdowns to reduce production downtime.
  • Ensure product quality and minimize waste by confirming that machines are accurately adjusted and operating according to specifications.
  • Report to the Maintenance/Projects Manager regarding machine conditions, performance metrics, spare parts utilized, and breakdown incidents.
  • Consistently adhere to Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards, along with all company Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Participate in and provide support and expertise in project work and the installation of new equipment.
  • Conduct machinery upgrades, modifications, and rebuilds under the supervision of the Maintenance/Projects Manager and Technicians, ensuring compliance with accuracy and defined engineering standards within set timeframes.
  • Perform lathe, milling, and general machining tasks as necessary for the manufacture or modification of machine components.
  • Carry out HSE inspections and audits as required.

Candidate Profile

  • Must possess a high school diploma and a valid Fitter and Turner Trade Qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of post-trade experience in a manufacturing setting, servicing general mechanical equipment is required.
  • Additional qualifications in the maintenance and operation of FMCG, automated production lines, and general mechanical equipment will be advantageous.
  • Experience in maintaining air conditioning, dust extraction, boiler, cooling water, and compressor systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Must demonstrate patience, courage, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively across various functional teams.
