Job Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Structural Design Professional to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. As a key member of our Structures division, you will be involved in delivering exciting new projects, ranging from Industrial Steel Structures to Reinforced Concrete Commercial Structures.

Your role will be to design and analyze structural systems, ensuring compliance with our ISO quality standards. You will work collaboratively with a stimulating team of engineers and BIM modelers, pushing the boundaries of innovation and excellence in the 3D BIM environment.

About the Role
  • Deliver high-quality structural engineering designs in a multi-disciplinary project environment;
  • Analyze and design reinforced concrete and steel structures;
  • Implement modern BIM workflows, leveraging Revit for efficient project delivery;
  • Produce results that meet our rigorous quality standards;
  • Participate in project meetings and monitor progress on site.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of project delivery life cycles and associated planning processes;
  • Possess a solid understanding of BIM principles and proficiency in Revit;
  • Show enthusiasm for engineering design, taking ownership and being proactive in the working environment;
  • Display initiative and excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Be detail-oriented and able to filter information effectively;
  • Cultivate strong collaboration and communication skills;
  • Absorb and apply company-specific techniques, standards, and procedures quickly;
  • Maintain a high level of motivation, proactivity, and a willingness to take on new challenges;
  • Excel in delivering exceptional levels of service;
  • Exhibit excellent communication and computer literacy skills (e.g., MS Office Suite);
  • Hold a valid driver's license and demonstrate willingness to travel;
  • Possess proficiency in design and BIM software packages (e.g., Revit, Robot, Etabs, Safe & Prokon) essential;
  • Have experience with simple programming (e.g., MS Excel) and visual programming environments (e.g., Dynamo, Rhino & Grasshopper) is advantageous.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field (Masters' degree advantageous);
  • Three to five years of experience in structural engineering, specifically with steelwork and concrete;
  • Registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) is required;
  • Civil engineering experience and project management expertise are advantageous;
  • Revit proficiency and multidisciplinary project experience are also beneficial.
