Job Description

The Freight Operations Controller at Talent Evolution Ltd. is responsible for overseeing the execution of freight operations, including break-bulk/intermodal activities. This role requires a strong understanding of transport regulations and exceptional organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of freight operations break-bulk/intermodal activities
  • Management of shipment instructions from clients
  • Coordination of transporters based on database availability, equipment type, and routing focus
  • Negotiation of pricing with transporters to secure optimal rates
  • Addressing and resolving pricing queries from both clients and transporters
  • Accurate and timely processing of shipments within the transport management system
  • Maintenance of continuous status updates for clients
  • Support of transporters in resolving delays during loading and off-loading
  • Verification of cargo measurements, weight, and quantities with transporters
  • Reporting of discrepancies between recorded shipment details and transporter-provided information

General Responsibilities

  • Providing assistance to colleagues in Break-Bulk or Intermodal operations as needed
  • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of all transport services offered by Talent Evolution Ltd.
  • Building strong working relationships with internal departments to enhance coordination
  • Seeking guidance when necessary and avoiding assumptions in operational decisions
  • Utilizing sound judgment to find effective solutions to operational challenges
  • Discussing financial decisions that may impact the company with management before proceeding
  • Upholding company values, integrity, and professionalism when dealing with staff, clients, suppliers, and external stakeholders
  • Being flexible to work beyond regular hours when necessary to meet deadlines

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in the transport/road freight industry (Non-Negotiable)
  • Strong knowledge of various vehicle configurations and restrictions
  • High level of computer literacy in Microsoft Office & Transport Management Software
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data processing
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
